2008 Kentucky Derby Paint Scheme
This
season UPS celebrates
the return of the "Off
to the Races" sweepstakes,
a result of the company's
partnership with
NASCAR, the Kentucky
Derby and the National
Thoroughbred Racing
Association (NTRA).
The prize is two
weekends of heart
pounding, fast-paced
racing action for
one lucky winner
who will travel to
Talladega Superspeedway
on April 27 to watch
the Sprint Cup Series
event followed by
a trip to the 134th
running of the Kentucky
Derby on May 3.
A cornerstone of this
partnership is the
special paint scheme
program which will
feature a horse racing
scheme on David Reutimann's
UPS Toyota Camry for
the Talladega Sprint
Cup Series race. Staying
in line with the standard
look of the #44 UPS
Camry, the special
paint scheme features
several different elements
that will give Reutimann's
ride a distinctive
Kentucky Derby feel
when he takes to the
track in Talladega.
Returning this year
is a diamond pattern,
a common sight in horse
racing, to replace
the typical white base
of the UPS Toyota.
Additionally, the hood
will carry two logos
with the Kentucky Derby
logo sharing the space
with the UPS logo.
The artwork commemorating
the 134th running of
the Kentucky Derby
will also be found
on each rear quarter
panel to finalize the
special look.
While David Reutimann
has the honor of driving
the special Kentucky
Derby paint scheme
for UPS, his Michael
Waltrip Racing teammates,
Dale Jarrett and Michael
Waltrip, will not miss
out on the action as
all three will travel
to Churchill Downs
on April 30 to take
part in a trophy presentation
following a race sponsored
by UPS.
Watch David Reutimann
race the #44 UPS Kentucky
Derby paint scheme
on April 27 in Talladega,
and be sure to tune
in for the 134th running
of the Kentucky Derby
on May 3.
