2008 Toys for Tots Paint Scheme

2008 Toys For Tots Paint SchemeThis season UPS Racing welcomes the return of a special relationship with The UPS Store and Toys for Tots. Since 2005, The UPS Store network has helped raise more than $1.3 million dollars for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, helping the organization deliver toys to thousands of children across the country.

This year the program takes a new, exciting turn as The UPS Store and Toys for Tots together launch a Literacy Program, which will offer the nation's most economically disadvantaged children direct access to books and educational resources. To help launch the program, UPS Racing unveiled plans to run a special paint scheme in support of this year-long initiative. David Reutimann will pilot the #44 The UPS Store/Toys for Tots Toyota during the Sprint Cup Series race at the Auto Club Speedway located in Fontana, California on August 31st.

Reutimann's paint scheme for the event pays tribute to the U.S. Marines and their commitment to the Toys for Tots program. Replacing the traditional colors of the UPS Toyota will be the colors from the Marine "dress blues," the only uniform that uses all three colors from the nation's flag. The logo for The UPS Store will appear on the rear quarter panels of the #44 Toyota along with the logo for the Toys for Tots Literacy Program on the hood and television panel.

The drive for donations will be based at participating The UPS Store locations, which will collect $1 donations for its Buck a Book program where every dollar donated will place a book into the hands of an economically disadvantaged child in the local community of the store. To start the program, The UPS Store presented a check for $125,000 to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation prior to the start of the Kobalt Tools 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This money will be used to distribute 125,000 books to children in need.
